The most important event in the Asian cleaning calendar will be taking place soon… The Clean India Show will be held in New Delhi, on 24th November for a 3 day event that gathers the entire cleaning industry together.
“Termed as the most important cleaning show in the Asia Pacific region, the Clean India Show not only brings the entire cleaning industry together on one platform, but it also aids in introducing new technology and equipment to the country and helps in business tie-ups between Indian and foreign companies,” say the organisers, Clean India Journal.
“In the last five years the Clean India Show has come to acquire the top slot when it comes to marrying the seekers and the suppliers of cleanliness and hygiene products, equipment and technology.”
This year, the show is being held in Delhi, which is also hosting the Commonwealth Games in October.
“The show assumes great importance, thanks to the innumerable facilities provided for the Commonwealth Games,” say the organisers. “Creating infrastructure is one thing, but maintaining everything for the benefit of the city and its people is a challenging task.”
“For this, the authorities and service providers require a thorough knowledge of cleaning technologies, products and equipment – including transport, toilet facilities, garbage collection etc and these cleaning routines need to be kept up after the Games as they are important in sustaining the development of the city and NCR. This on its own will provide an immense opportunity to the cleaning companies and facilities managers involved.
“The Commonwealth Games 2010, which will be taking place from 3rd to 14th of October, is the biggest sports event to be held on Indian soil ever. Naturally, the infrastructure on the 118 acre of the Commonwealth Games Village being constructed on the banks of Yamuna river, gains immense significance. We have to bear in mind that the population of the 2002 host, Greater Manchester, was 2.5 million and that of the 2006 games host, Melbourne was 3.5 million. Compare it with Delhi’s population of over 15 million…. It’s a humongous task”.
“The government is reportedly spending an estimated Rs 37.50 billion ($805.81 million) on the event. What is important here is our country’s reputation. In this light, a clean and hygienic environment after the event will be of the utmost importance. The Clean India Show will try and fill the gap here… for both information seekers and solution suppliers.”
“The show will also cater for the cleaning professionals from the northern parts of India, giving them an opportunity to interact with various industries and sectors looking for total cleaning solutions. In all, the Clean India show will offer a newer business dimension both for the Indian cleaning industry and for those wanting higher standards of cleanliness and hygiene in their set-ups.”
According to the CSO (Central Statistical Organisation), the Indian economy will grow at 7.2% in 2009-2010 against 6.7% in 2008-2009 and the manufacturing sector is estimated to grow at 8.9%. So, while India is on this growth trend, the need for cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation gains immense importance.
The Clean India Show will introduce and display green chemicals, pest control applications, latest technology, machinery and equipment and all things related to commercial cleaning and hygiene.
“Leading companies have already confirmed participation,” say the organisers. “Here is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase you products – equipment or chemicals, to introduce new technology for expanding your business. Also with fast growth in infrastructure, IT, hospitality, healthcare and industrial sectors, India is poised to create ample business avenues to cleaning companies. Mechanised cleaning is fast catching up and all the sectors including government departments are prescribing international cleanliness and hygiene standards. Outsourcing the housekeeping function is the accepted norm today.
